MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Parents and Friends of St Mary’s,
On Thursday, we had a wonderful visit with Bishop Gregory Bennet, which saw him visiting our classrooms and chatting with the students and staff. He was asked many questions that allowed the students to become better acquainted with the role and expectations of being a Bishop. Our junior students found out that his favourite ice cream is strawberry, and he is one of five in his family.
We, as a staff, had lovely afternoon tea with bishop Greg and he was highly impressed with the welcoming faces and smiles of all the children and the beautiful classrooms displaying the learning taking place. We look forward to another visit later in the year.
Our hearts and prayers go out to the people of Ukraine, and the following prayer allows some time for reflection and the overwhelming desire for peace and hope in these uncertain times.
PRAYER FOR UKRAINE
God of peace and justice,
Ww pray for the people of Ukraine today.
We pray for peace and the laying down of weapons.

We pray for all those who fear for tomorrow.
That your Spirit of comfort would draw near to them.
We pray for those with power over war or peace,
for wisdom, discernment and compassion to guide their decisions.
Above all, we pray for all your precious children, at-risk and in fear,
that you would hold and protect them.
We pray in the name of Jesus, the Prince of Peace.
Amen.
Kind regards,
Maria
