Dear Parents and Friends of St Mary’s,

A  HUGE congratulations to all our students who performed with excitement and enthusiasm at this week's Yarram Eisteddfod. It was delightful to see the efforts made by the children to recite their poems, participate in the vocal groups and work as a team to present their one-act play.

I would like to commend the students on how they conducted themselves walking to and from the theatre and the respect shown to their peers, congratulating, offering words of support when nerves seemed to take over and pushing themselves outside their comfort zones to perform in front of a full theatre. We will celebrate the week's successes with an Eisteddfod Concert and an opportunity for parents, grandparents and special people to come to see our items.

Your ability to support students to achieve such wonderful results is a testimony to your commitment, flexibility and creative vision. I appreciate all you do to make this Eisteddfod experience memorable for our students and families.

We have a wave of gastro and winter colds moving through the school, and I ask if your child is full of a head cold requiring them to blow and wipe their noses all through the day, they should be at home. Likewise, we need 48hrs to get over the gastro bug and stop transmission thoroughly.
