MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Parents and Friends of St Mary’s,
After a wonderful Sovereign Hill experience for the Garde 5-6 students, we are back to reality. While on camp, we were treated to a light and sound show, panning for gold, a mine tour and many other exciting experiences. These opportunities for our students don’t come about without hours of planning and preparation. I would like to thank Debbie Isemann for organising and planning the itinerary. Jo Bowden for agreeing to be a parent helper on camp and Chanelle for organising the pickup and drop off of the minivan.
I would also like to thank Deb Owens for her constant support of the students in her care throughout the lead-up and over the three-day camp.
We are prepared for our Fathers’ Day Breakfast tomorrow beginning at 8 a.m. This annual event is an opportunity to share breakfast with our Fathers, Grandparents and great blokes in our lives. We look forward to welcoming you for some delicious egg and bacon muffins, toast and cereal tomorrow morning.
We wish Deb Owens a wonderful six weeks of Long Service Leave. Deb will have her final day tomorrow and then jet off to many exciting destinations. I will teach the Grade 5/6 students outside of Sue Benc on a Wednesday.
We begin Child Safety Week from September 3rd to September 10th. This week allows us to celebrate and reflect on the importance of every child’s right to feel safe, secure and heard. We will unpack child safety throughout the week and celebrate what this looks like at St Mary's Yarram.
