Mathematics is an integral part of St Mary’s students’ ability to operate competently and confidently in their daily lives.
Our Numeracy Program aims to develop proficiency in place value, the four operations, measurement and spatial relations. This is achieved through the use of concrete learning aids including calculators and computers, active involvement in discussions and problem solving and by making mathematics relevant to everyday life.
The components of the program provide graded and sequenced activities that complement concepts taught. Maths is taught on a daily basis in each class and parents often assist in the implementation of an applied maths program.
