Dear Parents and Carers,
“So in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.” – Romans 12:5
As Term 3 draws to a close, we pause to give thanks for the learning, progress, and sense of community that continues to grow throughout St Mary’s School. This term has been filled with wonderful achievements both inside and outside the classroom — from academic milestones to sporting events, cultural celebrations, and acts of service within our school community.
We are especially proud of how our students have continued to meet our school-wide expectations: being respectful, responsible, and resilient learners. Even when challenges have arisen, they have persevered with courage and determination, supported by their peers and our dedicated staff.
We are reminded in Romans 12:5 that we are all part of one body, working together and supporting one another in faith and love. This sense of unity has been evident throughout the term — in our classrooms, playgrounds, and during special school events. We are grateful for the partnership we share with our families in helping each child flourish.
To our incredible teaching and support staff — thank you for your tireless commitment, creativity, and care. You continue to go above and beyond to support our learners and help them reach their full potential. Your work does not go unnoticed, and we are truly grateful.
To our students and families, we wish you a safe, joyful, and well-earned holiday break. Take this time to rest and recharge, ready for all that Term 4 will bring.
Looking Ahead to Term 4:
Please refer to the school calendar for important dates and updates on upcoming events. We will also continue to use Class Dojo to keep all our families informed and connected throughout the term.
Thank you for your continued support, partnership, and prayers.
Maria

Looking After Our Health and Well-being Over the Spring Term Break
Building Gratitude • Empathy • Mindfulness (GEM) with The Resilience Project
Dear Parents and Carers,
As we head into the spring term break, it’s a wonderful time for families to pause, refresh and recharge. The warmer weather and longer days provide the perfect opportunity to get outdoors, enjoy nature and spend quality time together. This is also a great chance to practise the Resilience Project’s key principles of Gratitude, Empathy and Mindfulness (GEM) at home.
Try These Ideas as a Family
- Stay Active: Walks, bike rides, playground visits or backyard games help keep bodies moving and minds happy.
- Eat Fresh Seasonal Foods: Spring brings a variety of fresh
fruit and vegetables. Involving children in preparing meals can make healthy eating fun and mindful.
- Practise Gratitude: Each day, share three things you’re thankful for – this can boost everyone’s mood and build positive thinking.
- Show Empathy: Encourage children to notice how others might be feeling and look for small ways to help or include them.
- Mindfulness Moments: Take a few slow breaths together, listen to the birds, or notice the signs of spring around you to help everyone slow down and be present.
- Rest and Relax: Make sure children get enough sleep and quiet time to recharge after a busy term.
We hope all our families enjoy a safe, happy and healthy break. Let’s return next term rested, re-energised and ready to continue our journey of learning and living out GEM each day!
I have included a flyer with information on upcoming Positive Partnership free workshops for parents/carers of children with Autism. If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact me.
